Atheists take over Canada!
Woot! Well, not really, but we’re well on the way. Two big deals in atheism are afoot:
1. University of Alberta no longer exhorts grads to use their degrees “for the glory of God”. The U of A Atheists and Agnostics, a student group of the non-believing sort, successfully campaigned to have the convocation charge ammended. It still has God in it, saying “for all who believe, to serve your God”, but who cares. Let those who believe serve their stupid Gods. Go Atheists & Agnostics!
“A meeting in late October heard from 18 speakers, including a number of campus religious groups who defended the original wording.” I’m confused how religious groups could defend a charge that clearly asserts God’s reality. God is only real to them. Any other personal proclivity you may harbour without reason doesn’t need to be respected in a public university, so why that one?
2. Non-God bus ads hit Canada! Two different Canadian organizations are working on atheist bus campaigns.
- AtheistBus.ca is the home base of the Canadian version of the British “probably no God” ads
- Sponsored by the Freethought Association of Canada, the ads’ll run in Toronto
- You can donate here!
- Dear Humanist Canada will be launching bus ads of their very own this spring in Vancouver, Toronto and one other city
- They’re open to slogans; submit your brilliance here
- The ads will focus on humanism (being good without God) as opposed to the more ‘bleak’ atheism (there’s no God, suck it up)
- You can donate here!
Wicked! In the Biblical sense!

It has been common among religious believers to look with misgiving to atheists and Gnostics, and to think that they are mistaken; however, in many instances the opposite is the truth; some religious beliefs are not just irrelevant, but baseless. The “God” of main line traditions simply does not exist. I accepted the challenge of finding the One who may be recognized even by Gnostics and atheists: the Existence itself, “All-That-Is.” If something is there, that is God. Look at the book “Christianity Reformed From ist Roots - A life centered in God” (Amazon.com). I am confident that some of your friends will be relieved of the illusion, as I did myself.

Believers have an invisible ghost big-brother to whom they deliver all their problems to be solved. Atheists do not have a such big-brother so they take responsibility for their own problems, solving them successfully one by one.
