Mormons under investigation for underreporting their anti-gay enthusiasm

From the New York Times: “California officials will investigate accusations that the Mormon Church neglected to report a battery of nonmonetary contributions — including phone banks, a Web site and commercials — on behalf of a ballot measure to ban same-sex marriage.”

A sworn complaint from Fred Karger, founder of the group Californians Against Hate, instigated the investigation. Officially, $5000 in donations were reported by the LDS (we’ve heard numbers starting at $20 million). Enjoy this noxious “official website of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints”, PreservingMarriage.org.

Here’s a little clip from their site explaining how marriage will be destroyed by allowing more people to marry.

    1. So, they want to preserve the “traditional” definition of marriage. Is that the one where women are property and blacks and white are forbidden to marry each other?

As for the donations, most of them weren’t made directly to the church, so they probably will not have any legal ramifications because of it; they are getting a lot of bad prerss though, as bigots should.
