It’s a Miracle!

Posted by God Delusion on June 22nd, 2009 Comments (0)

How God chooses to reveal himself is quite miraculous, and the latest miracle occurred recently in Britain.

A British woman said she saw the face of Jesus while preparing breakfast for her 4-year-old son, London’s Daily Mail reports.
She saw the Jesus image while opening a jar of Marmite, a thick, brown spread.

Seriously though, why is this even news? There is nothing to it! A Christian saw a blob and thought it looked like Jesus, yipee. Why doesn’t it just look like a guy with a beard? Why Jesus? Becasue she is a Christian, and her brain is hard wired to see patterns, and because of pareidoloia, she sees Jesus.

Take a look at the same image upside down. Still see Jesus? Yep, and you won’t be able to look at it now withoutseeing Jesus, because of pareidoloia.

Wikipedia Bans Scientology

Posted by God Delusion on June 15th, 2009 Comments (0)

The Internet encyclopedia Wikipedia has blocked all contributions from computers at the Church of Scientology’s Los Angeles headquarters to stop users there from revising articles to reflect a pro-Scientology viewpoint.

While it is somewhat of a futile point since people that are ambitious can get around that by blocking their I.P.’s, using proxies or going off-site to another location, the gesture itself sends a message that the usually neutral wikipedia isn’t happy about the bombarding of Scientology propaganda on their website, which tries to have it’s content remain objective.

Penn Jillette, an avowed atheist, had an interesting commentary about the situation.

Same-Sex Marriage is Sooo Evil

Posted by Formo-Mormo on May 19th, 2009 Comments (0)

A new add from the folks over at the National Organization for Marriage shows confused kids that apparently weren’t taught by their parents about the different kids of folks in the world; you know, those people that happen to be attracted to the same-sex and want to consecrate their relationship in marriage like any other couple might.

Prepare to gag.

One of the kids say “God created Adam and Eve? That’s so old-fashioned.” Thank you little girl, for speaking the truth.

In North America, we have advanced from the days of demonizing gay people, to where they can live their lives how they choose without the threat of violence. Unfortunately there are still people out there that want to force gay people to adhere to their religious beliefs, we still have growing to do.

Religion + Law = Torture

Posted by Formo-Mormo on May 10th, 2009 Comments (0)

What do you get when you mix Sharia religous law with government rulers? Human torture.

Mohamed Omar Ismael stole $90 from a saving account, local reports said.

Mohamed was sentenced to the amputation of his right-hand, and the punishment was carried out in public in the city center where a large crowd of people watched on as Islamists carried out the sentence.

Al Shabab, a Muslim group in Somalia has instituted the religious law to be carried out in this region.

Under strict Sharia law, theft is sentenced by severing their hand. The death penalty is meted out for murder, rape, armed robbery, apostasy and drug trafficking.

Apostasy?! Apostasy is the rejection of one’s own religion. So under this Muslim, faith based law, the punishment for renouncing your faith is DEATH.

This seems to be a good reason to keep church and state seperate, in ALL cases.

Less People Going to Church

Posted by Formo-Mormo on May 7th, 2009 Comments (0)

A new report says that more and more young people are abandoning the faith of their parents, and faith all together.

Historically, the percentage of Americans who said they had no religious affiliation (pollsters refer to this group as the “nones”) has been very small — hovering between 5 percent and 10 percent. However, Putnam says the percentage of “nones” has now skyrocketed to between 30 percent and 40 percent among younger Americans.

While this doesn’t necessarily mean that are becoming agnostic or atheist, it does reflect the trend in the last 20 years to the politicizing of religion, and the rejection of that movement by young people.

The less people blindly adhering to dogma the better.
